Hi, my name is Matt Lawless and I am author and creator of this new Network Marketing blog.
If you are anything like me, you love the Internet and making serious money. I’ll explain a little about how I combined the 2 and CHANGED MY LIFE ENTIRELY in a moment, but first let me tell you a little about myself.
Having worked for 15 years in the Sales & Marketing industry, I was getting down with the extended work hours, and forever lining others’ pockets. Then came a health scare (probably due to the 12-14 hour days) and I decided enough was enough.
I know there are thousands of people just like me, and if you’ve read this far, you can probably count yourself in with these. Are you fed up being a slave to unappreciative bosses? My Story
In early 2008 I was working for a big company who were going through a tough patch. Naturally there was talk of redundancies and the pressure was piling on to work longer hours and deliver more and more. This led to having to fly around the country, entertaining every possible lead, and in 12 months alone, I racked up 65,000 miles of driving - on top of the work I was expected to do when I arrived at whichever far-flung part of the country.
One night at around 2am I woke up in a cold sweat. My heart was racing, chest aching and my left arm heavy. I then noticed pins and needles in my left hand. I have to tell you I was terrified. Now I’m a guy, and we guys don’t like to own up to anything worng medically. But that night, I woke my wife and told her how I was feeling. The next thing I knew was the taxi was idling outside and I was dressed warmly (there was a foot of snow on the ground - very unusual for the UK).
3 hours later in the hospital, after being poked and prodded I was diagnosed with stress and overwork that had the potential to knock me over if I didn’t change my life.
That was the night I decided to make the change. I had no idea WHAT I wanted to do, nor HOW I was going to do it, only that I MUST change something if I wanted to grow up with my kids.
You may at this point be thinking this is all very melodramatic, but I assure you that if you have ever felt anything of the above then you will know it’s no laughing matter.
I had been putting in a few hours setting up a small online business, which first gave me the taste for Internet-based success. It is still running and turning over a decent profit, and I run that alongside my other interests. The big thing here is this: Now that I have escaped the rat race, I have time to pursue the interests I have rather than be dictated to by some unappreciative boss.
